Zoom is a web-based conferencing application allows users to meet online, with or without video. Zoom users can record sessions, collaborate on projects, and share or annotate on one another’s screens, all with one easy-to-use platform.

How do I download Zoom?

From Your Business Workstation

All Admin IT desktops have the Zoom application pre-installed. If you can’t seem to find the Zoom application on your desktop, please reboot your machine, it should appear after a reboot. If you can’t find the Zoom application after a reboot, please contact Admin IT and we can help you with the installation. This will allow for the software installation to complete or report any installation problems to the Admin IT staff. If Zoom is installed, you should immediately see two new buttons in your email window:

Once the Zoom client has been installed, you are ready to set up your individual Zoom profiles.

From Your Personal Desktop or Laptop

From your desktop or laptop, you may download the Zoom application from https://zoom.us/download and select the Download button under Zoom Client for Meetings. Zoom supports Windows, Mac, and Linux.

From Your Mobile Devices

Zoom supports both Android and iOS devices.

Android

Open up Google Play Store > Search for ZOOM > choose ZOOM Cloud Meetings > then Install.

iOS

Open up Apple Store -> Search for Zoom > Choose ZOOM cloud Meetings > then Get.

How do I download Zoom?

From Your Desktop or Laptop

  1. First, double click the Zoom icon on your desktop
  2. Then, Click Sign In.
  3. Click Sign In with SSO as shown below.

  1. Enter usc for the company domain as shown below.

  1. Click Continue
  2. You then be taken to a red USC Shibboleth login page. Enter your USC NetID (Workday) login and password.

  1. After signing in, you might have a popup similar to below, just click open zoom.

  1. You will be taken to your own Personal Meeting page where you can Schedule, Join or Start a meeting.

How to Join a Meeting?

  1. Click on Meetings as shown with the arrow below.

  1. Click on the Scheduled Meeting which you would like to join and click on Join as shown with the example below.

  1. You will have to wait for the meeting host to start the meeting. Below is a picture of a meeting that has not started.

  1. During this time you may Test your Computer Audio.
  2. Once the host has started the meeting, you will be presented with the Meeting Window.

How do I begin my scheduled meeting?

In the upcoming meetings tab, click on the scheduled meeting and click on Start button as shown in the image below.

How do I schedule a zoom meeting using Microsoft Outlook?

  • If you use Microsoft Outlook to schedule a Zoom meeting, you can check for schedule conflicts with the participants.
  • You can access your Zoom meetings from any computer with an internet connection by going to the Office 365 web client: https://www.usc.edu/office365.
